Recent Events at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Tuticorin!

The life of Saint Jeanne Jugan enacted by the Elderly Residents of Tuticorin on 31st August 2021 - Little Sisters of the Poor



The Residents acted few important scenes from the life of St. Jeanne Jugan on the 31st of August 2021 for our guest Most Rev. Stephen Anthony.



Jeanne Jugan leaves her home and works at the hospital St Rosais in Saint Servan. She meets Mlle Lecoq and moves to live with her. At her death Jeanne finds a rented house in Saint Servan. She brings in the old, blind and paralyzed lady and gives her bed to her. Isabelle Coeuru joins Ann Chauvin. Then the first elderly man Rudolph is admitted. Then Jeanne goes around collecting for her poor. Jeanne and her first companions take vows. Jeanne cures the lame boy and tames the bull. Jeanne is at her death bed. The last picture depicts the canonization of Saint Jeanne Jugan.


Girls Day celebrated on 29th August 2021


On the 29th of August 42 young girls of the youth group from St. Stephen’s Parish, Kombudurai came to spend the day with us. They gave a cultural program and animated some games for the Elderly.

Both the Elderly and the young cherished the day .After a very long gap this encounter was made possible due to Corona preventive protocols.



Pilgrimage on 19th August 2021 to Our Lady of Snows




On the 19th of August the Residents were taken to the Basilica of Our Lady of Snows for a pilgrimage.



Eye Camp for the Elderly on September 1, 2021


On the 1st of September Dr. Kumarasamy HOD of ophthalmology Department from Thoothukudii Medical College and Research Hospital organized for a eye camp at our Home at the request of Sr. Elisabeth.
