We, the little Sisters of the Poor at Bangalore St Joseph and the aged residents had a pleasant surprise of the visit of Mr. Robert Vadra, the husband of Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi, daughter of Sonia Gandhi. Mr. Robert Vadra was on his visit in Bangalore, just to meet and interact with common people to know their problems, difficulties, and expectations. Father Tony, a priest in St John’s Medical College suggested that he visits our Home. The date of his visit was fixed on Friday, 27th February, 2026.

All the Residents, Little Sisters and the employees were assembled in the big dining room. The Residents were holding the Indian flag. Mr. Robert Vadra and his team were welcomed warmly and were escorted to the big dining room of the Residents. As he entered, all clapped their hands. Mother Provincial Mary Clara honored him with a shawl. Then the dignitaries were seated facing the Residents. Mr. Noel Monisse, one of our Residents gave him a welcome speech after which a Little Sister presented a brief history of our Congregation, about our home and how we depend totally on God’s Providence and the generosity of our good friends and benefactors.

Then the elderly residents performed an action song with flags in their hands to the rhythm of the music. A few of them sang songs. Then, Mr. Robert Vadra took the mike and expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received from all. There were a couple of press people who interviewed him. He said that his visit is nothing to do with the politics. The employees took a picture with him.

Then, he expressed his wish to serve the Residents. He was taken to the ladies’ infirmary, where he served the infirm Residents and interacted with them.
