"In August, we honor the month of our beloved Mother St. Jeanne Jugan. The Community decided to introduce the life of our Mother Foundress to the new Residents by reading a passage from the simple life of Mother St. Jeanne Jugan each evening, just 15 minutes before dinner. This initiative aims to familiarize them with our mission and work in caring for the Elderly Poor.
Every year for the Feast of Mother St. Jeanne Jugan, we invite neighboring priests, religious, friends, benefactors, AJJ Members, and families of our Little Sisters. Despite challenges in reaching out, we were overwhelmed by the positive response to our invitations. The Chapel was filled to capacity for a concelebrated Mass at 10:30 a.m., with Father Victor Machado as the main celebrant. Father expressed gratitude to our benefactors for their presence and continuous support throughout the year.
CHARLES DICKENS
Once after meeting Jeanne Jugan, Charles Dickens said, “there is in this woman something so calm, and so holy, that in seeing her I know myself to be in the presence of a superior being. Her words went straight to my heart, so that my eyes, I know not how, filled with tears.”

LIFE OF SAINT JEANNE JUGAN, FOUNDRESS OF THE LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR, PRESENTED BY THE ELDERLY RESIDENTS OF MANGALORE HOME
Following Mass, everyone enjoyed a light snack and refreshments in the Multi-purpose Hall before the program commenced. The day included hymns, welcoming speeches, and a reenactment of Mother St. Jeanne Jugan's life, which was well-received by all attendees. "
