The Little Sisters of the Poor and the Residents had the honor of hosting the District-level celebration of World Elders Day on October 1st, 2025, organized by the Collector's office in Erode.
With inmates from other old age homes invited, the multi-purpose hall was bustling with joyful guests. Ms. Kulandai Theresa, one of the residents, warmly welcomed the chief guest, Mr. Kandasamy, the District Collector, and explained the mission of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
The elegant dance by the elderly ladies mesmerized the Collector, prompting him to promptly ask for a photo with them. Following this, students from a Medical College presented a cultural program.

In his speech, the clearly pleased Collector urged everyone to care for the elderly with love, emphasizing that they deserve the same attention and affection as children.

The Collector subsequently honored several elderly Residents with Ponnadai and gave out gifts such as a wheelchair, walker, hearing aid, sewing machine, and an electric wheelchair specifically for Mrs. Theresa, one of the Residents. It was a day to remember for everyone.
