Little Sisters of the Poor in India
At the service of the elderly Poor
SHANIDHAYA SHASHWAT shares his experience after his internship with the Little Sisters of the Poor in Bangalore.
It has been a privilege to participate in the community service at the Little Sisters of the Poor, it was an incredibly enriching experience. The staff at the home are truly dedicated to the wellbeing of the residents, providing not only essential are but also a warm and compassionate environment.
During my time here, I engaged in various activities, from laundry work to assisting in serving meals. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on the resident’s face. Their appreciation for the smallest act of kindness was a profound reminder of the value of community and support.
The management team deserves special recognition for their tireless efforts in coordinating volunteers and ensuring that the Home operates smoothly. Their open communication and guidance made it easy for me to integrate into the service program and contribute effectively.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve at the Little Sisters of the Poor and would highly recommend this experience to others. Its not about the help we provide, its about the connections we make and the lives we touch. I look forward to continue my involvement and encourage everyone to consider giving their time to such worthy cause.
