Wonderful Outstanding Women Award to the Little Sisters of the Poor at Tuticorin!
Young Indians (Yi) is a movement for Indian Youth to converge, lead, co-create and influence India’s future. As an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non-government, not-for-profit, industry led and industry managed organisation playing a proactive role in India's development process.
This movement chose the Kamaraj College premises to have the Women’s day celebration. The Chief Guest was Mrs. Saundharia Rajesh, the director of Avathar, a cell for rehabilitating women in the career stream and the chief functionaries of Thoothukudi (YI) were present. After a short welcome address, the awardees of the day were introduced.
To have a meaningful women’s day celebration WOW (Wonderful Outstanding Women Award) were presented to four women belonging to four different categories namely social service, education, sports and entrepreneurship. The one for outstanding social service was given to the Little Sisters of the Poor. Mother Amaly Antoinette and Sr. Gertrude Claire received the momento in the name of the Congregation; few words were addressed to encourage the youth to serve the humanity. We thank Mr. James Peter the director of Pearl Shipping Agency who had suggested us for the award.
