August 31st being Saturday was kept for the celebration of “Benefactors’ Day” - A day we show our appreciation to all those who help us so generously throughout the year.
A thanksgiving Eucharist was celebrated for their intentions and for their families which was followed by an entertainment program by our elderly Residents.
We profited of this occasion to honor our devoted five VOLUNTEERS who give their services with such dedication – two Doctors – Dr. Mohan Kumar G & Dr. Alphonsa Hamsa, Dr. Bernard Joseph, Physiotherapist, Mrs. Shirly Abraham, Dietician and Mrs. Emily Philomene Raj, the all-rounder. Mother Provincial pinned the Volunteer badge on them and we expressed our appreciation and gratitude amidst thunderous applause.
Before leaving, supper was offered to all our 250 guests who really seemed to have enjoyed the evening – the Eucharist, the Program and then supper. May God be praised for all the help we receive from them because as St Jeanne Jugan said: “What can we do without our benefactors? We owe them a debt of gratitude and must keep them in our prayers!”
