The Home in Kolkata was one of the three chosen Health Care Centers to be visited. On Sunday 10th Feb at 8 a.m. was the scheduled time for Delegates to visit our home.
Among them were three Bishops: Rev. Bishop Cyprian Monis, Diocese of Asansol, Bishop Vincent Aind, Diocese of Bagdogra, and Bishop Fulgence Aloysius Tigga, Diocese of Raiganj. There were also numerous priests, Religious of different Congregations and lay people who are involved in Health Care and Pastoral Care. Since most of them spoke in Bengali, our Residents benefited from this valuable visit by sharing their life experiences which touched those present.
World Day of the Sick

The highlight of this visit was all the Bishops blessed each Resident by laying their hands on them and praying over each individual.
The Pontifical Holy Mass of the Anointing of the Sick was held at St. Xavier’s College grounds, and concelebrated by two Cardinals, 20 Bishops and 107 Priests. The Main Celebrant of this event was Cardinal Peter K.A. Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery of Integral Human Development. Forty of our Residents and five Little Sisters received anointing during this Pontifical Mass and each individual got a picture of the Holy Father and a Rosary.
This memorable and prayerful Eucharistic Celebration concluded at 6 p.m. followed by a Cultural Program. Excellent dancers presented delightful dances from the different Regions of India. Jesus’s Public Ministry and the Story of the Good Samaritan, were well executed by school children.
