An enjoyable picnic of the infirm to Loyola College - Chennai!

On Februrary 17, 2020, six Associates Jeanne Jugan of the Little Sisters of the Poor at Chennai along with Mother Superior and three Little sisters took 19 residents from the infirmary on a picnic to Loyola college. The Associates brought 3 cars and the two vans from the Home transported us along with wheel chairs and walkers to Loyola. On arrival we were given snacks and tea.This was followed by a ride round the campus to Berkmans Hall. Again biscuits and tea was served. The Associates conducted a game of passing the parcel. Residents thoroughly enjoyed them selves.Three prizes were given to the winners. In order not to disappoint the others all were given gifts. Prizes and gifts were spons

J W Mariott Hotel Staff celebrates the birthdays of the elderly Residents at Little Sisters of the P

The J W Mariott Hotel staff members began the birthday celebrations of the elderly Residents of the Little Sisters of the Poor, Bangalore St Joseph at 4 pm. All the Residents were gathered in the big dining hall. The ones who celebrate their birthdays were seated together in the place of honor. After singing "Happy Birthday" song, the gifts were distributed to each one of them. Then the birthday cake was cut by the oldest Resident - 96 years old. The refreshments were distributed along with birthday cake. Then the staff entertained the Residents with singing & dancing. Pongal celebrations in Coonoor!

Pongal celebrations were held on January 15, 2020 in Coonoor at the Little Sisters of the Poor! The Cluny Nursery & Primary School from Selas came to give a programme for our residents on 10th January 2020. It was so beautiful. All children were below 7yrs. Our dear residents really enjoyed.

The Golden Jubilee of our Holy Father Pope Francis celebrated in Mangalore!

Pope Francis was ordained a priest 50 years ago on Dec. 13, 1969, by the emeritus archbishop of Cordoba, Ramón José Castellano, in the chapel of the Jesuit-run Colegio Maximo on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, four days before his 33rd birthday. On the occasion of our Holy Father Pope Francis' Golden Jubilee of his priestly Ordination, we, the Little Sisters of the Poor of Mangalore had a solemn mass with an entrance procession with the big banner of his picture. Soon after mass we had the joy of having our new vehicle blessed.
